You know those little moments in life that seem to pass harmlessly at first but end up changing everything? Well, that is how Puneet Gupta’s story starts.
He belongs to an ordinary Punjabi middle-class family in Bathinda, Punjab. Life was simple, money was hardly pouring in, but his parents instilled in him the values of hard work and honesty. His subconscious ambitions surfaced early in his life-he wanted to do something meaningful but could not articulate it in words.

He graduated in engineering from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, moved into Mumbai and was working with big houses like Nomura and BNP Paribas. Life seemed perfect on paper. Puneet had a stable job, a salary not a bad one, as it revolved around ₹37,000 approximately—and internally felt desensitized. He was living in auto-dry mode—things were not too nasty but not excessively lively either. Deep within he knew that his heart wanted more-something meaningful.
And, as luck would have it, half-seriously, he did go to an astrologer-one such visit being: “Let’s go.” Yet that not-so-weighty appointment bothered him far more than he accounted for. It got him thinking that so many people actually take refuge in astrology. And instantaneously, a thought popped up in his brain: what if one could bring this ancient practice to make it simple, trustworthy, and accessible through technology?
2017 witnessed that spark come alive in action. He quit his plush corporate job and stepped into the unknown. People doubted him. His investors hesitated. At times, even he questioned his choice. He, however, believed-truly believed-in what he was doing, and slowly but surely, things began falling into place.
Of course, by the years, the AstroTalk platform boomed. Millions of users came onto it; thousands of astrologers joined, and as of 2025, the fate of platform has crossed ₹1,000 crore. What is Puneet’s personal wealth? Somewhere around ₹250 to ₹300 crore. But the point is that it is not about money. The real story is about trust. About the millions changed by this vision. About having the guts to follow one instinct in a world that doesn’t understand it.
It is indeed a journey that reminds one that life generally whispers to you before roaring. That little spark of curiosity, that small choice to follow one’s gut, can lead to extraordinary things. Success does not only come in wealth or fame-it comes from having the audacity to listen to your heart and build on.
