The fact is – Ishtam Mathram has a certain standalone quality that makes it different from all the other TV serials. Most probably, it is because of the familiar feeling that one gets from the characters; perhaps they are people he thinks he meets somewhere. Or perhaps it is how well the artists sink into their roles. It all comes down to this: the cast does bring the story alive in what appears to be an effortless way but be sure there really is heart behind it.

Amidst all this is Tamil Selvi, the Nivisha-mipher-spelled character. Quite simply, she is Tamil Selvi – the emotions, the strength, the softness, the quiet moments-all feel very real. You could almost see the weight of her journey in expressions. When she stands up for herself or faces something painful, Nivisha has dealt with it with enough subtlety and elegant grace.

And clearing things up, there is Sanjay Kumar, as Karthik. He has a very calm but mighty screen presence that truly balances with the emotional beats of the show. Above all, that character does not count only in terms of romance; it does so uniquely in shaping the character’s path while Tamil Selvi trot. It seems every look and line has meaning in association with his character.
The next is Radhika as Anjali – that kind of character, really impossible to ignore. She’s not simply there to create drama; she makes things more complex when it comes to relationships on the show. Radhika gives her a kind of sharpness and depth that makes Anjali interesting even when she has not been given a focus in the scene.
Vijay, who plays Pradeep, brings a spark of unpredictability in the serial. He is the type of character keeping the tension alive, the one who might turn everything topsy-turvy at the times you least expect. Vijay’s performance pierces just enough edge into the play without being overly drunk.
And finally, we are greeted by Gowri in a supporting role. Sometimes, it tends to be that the quieter characters really bear weighty emotion in a way that you wouldn’t expect it. Gowri exudes warmth and realism that help ground the more dramatic moments in the show. It’s the kind of performance you may not always notice right away, but you would miss if it wasn’t there.
You can get all the images of the actors online; just search and you will get more than enough from promo shoots and fan pages. But honestly, once you see a few episodes, you will forget about their names and start recognizing them by their feelings on screen.
