IPS Ankita Sharma is the epitome of bravery, determination, and strictness. She was born on 25 June 1990 in Durg, Chhattisgarh, and made a remarkable effort in her career by becoming the first female IPS officer of Chhattisgarh. She has reached the age of 34 years in 2024, and she is now the Superintendent of Police (SP) for the new districts of Khairagarh–Chhuikhadan, Gandai.
Background of Life and Family

Ankita was born and raised in a progressive, supportive family. Her father, Rakesh Sharma, is a businessman and an active member of the Congress party. In contrast, her mother, Savita Sharma, is a housewife who had a big influence on Ankita’s disciplined lifestyle. She has two younger sisters and always says that living with a close-knit family has been a factor in keeping her grounded.
Ankita is married to Vivekanand Shukla, who is an officer in the Indian Army. Their marriage is held in high regard for the mutual respect and loyalty both have not only for their professions but also for the country.
Ankita’s educational record has always been a good one. She was a student at St. Xavier Senior Secondary School, Durg, where she scored 92% in Class X and 90% in Class XII. Afterward, she got her MBA from Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekananda Technical University, where she was awarded the gold medal.

After completing her MBA, Ankita shifted to Delhi to begin her UPSC preparation. But soon she came back to Chhattisgarh and kept on preparing to go on from there. She had a long way to go:
1st Attempt: Did not qualify in Mains
2nd Attempt: Did not get through Prelims
3rd Attempt (2018): Won AIR 203 and got into the IPS
Public Administration was her optional subject, and her total score was 1035 (867 in Mains + 168 in Interview).
