Early Life & Education
Divya Prabhu was brought up in Tamil Nadu in a family that had public service and education at its core. That which is at the core of what they did as a family shaped her to be very much aware of social responsibilities. She got her B.Sc. in Agriculture from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University in Coimbatore, where she also stood out as a very dedicated and hard-working student. Always had an interest in governance and law, which led her to get a Master’s in Business Law, which in turn helped to improve her role in policy making and administrative implementation in her professional life.

During my time in school and university, Divya got involved in many leadership and rural development projects, which in turn put forth her desire to serve society at large. Also, before joining the civil service, she showed great dedication to environmental issues, community welfare and women’s empowerment issues, which still play a large role in her administrative work.
UPSC Journey and Rank
Divya’s story of becoming an IAS officer is a very inspiring which any UPSC aspirant can live by. Although she was in the forest services at the start of her career, which is a respectable field in itself, Divya’s ambition was always the Indian Administrative Service. Her tenacity took her through each hurdle, including that of motherhood. She appeared for her UPSC preliminary exam in the 9th month of pregnancy and passed it on the very first try, which is a great feat in itself. Also, she did the main exam and interview, which she did while looking after a newborn, which proves that with unshakeable willpower, you can overcome the toughest of issues. Divya’s devotion got her an AIR 82 in the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2013, which in turn placed her among the best of that year’s batch.

Career
In 2014, Divya joined as an IAS officer she was put into the Karnataka cadre. In which were a few different departments she served in very well, also which also included the fields of policy and public health. Her style of leadership is that of transparency, out-of-the-ordinary compassion, and solving problems with doable solutions. By 2025 also which is also near the present time, she will still serve as the District Collector and Magistrate of Dharwad in where she has brought large-scale change in governance, in cleanliness, in rural development and digital grievance resolution.
One of her biggest success stories is “Mission Vidyakashi”, which we have put in place to better the lot of government school students. We did this through special coaching, we got in talent from the educational field to mentor, we did motivational workshops, and also partnered with top-notch educational institutions in Dharwad. Thus, we are working to close the gap in terms of quality of education and to give each and every child a chance at a better future.
Personal life, Spouse, Age and More
Divya Prabhu was born on 3rd June 1986, and in 2025 will mark her 39th year. Though very much into her professional life, which is very intense at times, Divya has been very much into her family. She is married to IAS officer Dr V. Ramprasath Manohar, who is at present in Karwar. What they have is a very balanced and supportive relationship, which is a result of mutual respect, and they also share the same values, which is that of dedicated service to society. They also have a son in Akhilesh Ramkarthik, and Divya does very well in the role of a mother as well as in very demanding admin roles.
