Early Life and Background
Captain Vijayant Thapar VrC was born as Vijayant Thapar on 26 December 1976 in India. As his father was an Army officer, he grew up in a military family and thus was brought up in an atmosphere full of discipline and patriotism. From the very early years, he was highly energetic and physically active, playing various games, and he was also a leader of the group a lot of times. Training and Commissioning
He decided to join the National Defence Academy, India’s premier tri-service training institution, and after successfully completing his course there, he proceeded to the Indian Military Academy for further training. In the summer of 1999, Captain Vijayant Thapar played a significant part in the operations during the armed conflict called the Kargil War. As a member of the 2nd Battalion, Rajputana Rifles, he fought the insurgents during the tough combat and challenging circumstances of the Drass sector.
