Harsha Chemudu was born and brought up in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, in the early ’90s. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Chaitanya Engineering College but always harbored a passion for acting, a journey that stemmed from his shy and introverted nature. He has openly spoken about how he was teased and ridiculed as a kid, and these experiences gave him the strength to face the camera and conquer his fears through performance.
Rise to Fame: Viva Harsha

Harsha shot to fame overnight in 2013 with the one-two punch of “Viva,” a YouTube short film created jointly with Sabarish Kandregula, catching the fancy of the younger generation. The short went viral, and Harsha garnered the moniker “Viva Harsha” from his fan following. It appealed due to its strange humor and relatable context.
Transition to Films
Later that year, Harsha finally stepped into Telugu cinema with the release of Masala. Later, he displayed his gift for comedy in Govindudu Andarivadele, Dohchay, Colour Photo, Thank You Brother, and Thimmarusu: Assignment Vali. In 2023, he starred in Bhaag Saale, and in 2024, he will appear in the crime comedy Paarijatha Parvam, showing his skill in both comedic and dramatic roles.
Web Series & Hosting Ventures

From the year 2019, in the digital space, he bagged web series like The Grill and Hostel Daze. In 2020, he co-hosted Sam Jam with Samantha Ruth Prabhu and also anchored his own comedy talk show, Tamasha with Harsha, on the Aha OTT platform.
Exploring Dramatic Depths
While establishing himself with comedy, Harsha also learned to embrace drama. His intense dramatic portrayal in Colour Photo hit the right spots with critics and audiences. In Men Too of 2023, he plays an emotionally torn-away-from-comedy IT professional faced with false accusations.
Leading Role & Recent Projects

2024 saw another milestone when he took on a leading role in Sundaram Master, a comedy-drama about an English teacher with an ulterior motive. He continues looking for acting roles that challenge him.
He is also part of the upcoming action-romantic Mowgli 2025, doing a funny fan character called “Prabhas Bunty”.
Personality & Personal Growth
Initially full of self-doubt, Harsha embraced his camera-facing opportunities and thus grew in confidence. A memorable moment in his journey was receiving praise from comedy legend Brahmanandam, affirming his comedic skills. He credits this as a turning point in his career.
